How to train WAIT for a cue – Professional Dog Training

In this 2 minute dog training video tutorial, I will show you how to train a “default wait for a cue” which I show attendees at my seminars. Teaching this behavior will clean up your training greatly and it's a tip that is too important for it not to be publicly accessible. Some dogs you will not need to work on this behavior, because they do it naturally. But other dogs, when feeling frustrated or excited, might offer random behaviors to you while you are busy getting treats out of your pouch, or thinking about what you are going to do next and those behaviors accidentally get reinforced, so the dog can start to create a habit of offering random behaviors any time he doesnt know what to do. You can create clarity to your training by teaching your dog what you want him to do when waiting for you to stop fumbling around. Knowing what you want him to do will decrease frustration and confusion. Happy Training! Don't forget to give me a thumbs up for my work, comment and subscribe it you are a fan. šŸ™‚
