Begining training multiple dogs name discrimination – professional dog training

Here is a video from 4 years ago when I first started working with my dogs on the concept of all responding to a cue when I say ALL and only responding if they hear their name. I just started working on the concept again and thought it would be fun to share a video of how I trained it. The key to success- using mats at first, so the dogs dont gravitate toward the center and crowd each other and two use a visual cue for ALL as well – I do the cue with both hands like an orchestra conductor 🙂 In the beginning the farther away the dogs are from each other the easier it will be for them to understand that you are just talking to one of the dogs. You can also use your eye contact and pointing to help make the picture clearer.
